A Call-To-Action, or a ‘CTA’ as they’re more commonly referred to, is part of a webpage or advertisement that prompts a user to complete an intended action.
In terms of digital marketing, a CTA can help drive a user to complete a conversion or fulfil a goal.
Types of Call-To-Actions
Not every digital marketing campaign has the same end-goal, so not every CTA will be relevant to your project. As such, it’s essential to consider which CTA will be the most effective for your campaign before implementation.
Below is a selection of different CTA’s which could be used as part of your digital marketing campaign:
Learn More – If you’ve been on a website, then you’ll have seen the ‘learn more’ CTA! This option can be used to direct a user through your site, taking them from one broad landing page, to a more specific section of content. If you’re wanting to give your audience a little more information – this is the CTA to use.
Get Started – This CTA is often used to let your audience know they’re about to begin some sort of process. It gives the indication of commitment and is best applied at the beginning of a sign-up process or data-gathering sequence.
Buy Now – A clear and concise CTA. There’s no ambiguity when using this CTA – you’re giving your audience the ability to purchase a product/service.
Arrange A Quote – Again, another direct CTA which informs the users of what they’re about to do. This CTA can be extremely beneficial in ad copy, to help attract intrigued users to your website.
Keep Browsing – A great CTA for maintaining user engagement. This CTA gives your audience the ability to extend their session beyond their initial intent, and as such, can lead to secondary goal completions.
The correct CTA might not always be implemented straight away, and that’s why we suggest A/B testing CTA’s across your marketing campaigns to understand which formats work best with your audience.
By doing this, you can ensure you’re making the most out of your marketing efforts and yielding the highest number of possible conversions.
