Google to remove “mobile-friendly” label

Google have announced they will cleaning up their mobile search pages by removing the “mobile-friendly” label that is currently displayed next to results. The reason behind the change is that 85% of all pages in mobile search results are now classed by Google as mobile-friendly. Therefore, it was decided that it would be better to remove the label completely as it had become almost redundant.

So, there’s no need to panic if you no longer see the “mobile-friendly” label next to your site in mobile search results!

From an SEO perspective there is very little change as Google’s mobile friendly algorithm is still in full effect. To test if your site is up to scratch for mobile users you can use Google’s mobile friendliness test tool.
